Vi möttes på Dansens hus hösten 1993 när jag praktiserade med dig under Kenneth Kvarnströms ”Finsk afton” och vi pratade både ljuset som konstform och som tekniskt hjälpmedel. Du var alltid så ödmjuk, så välkomnande och inkluderande. Du har gjort mycket för branschen, och jag hoppas verkligen att någon har kraft och mod att ta upp där du så hastigt lämnade oss. Tack för allt

Anders och jag möttes på Unga Riks under turnéföreställningen Vitblomma 1986. Sedan dess har vi fortsatt att hålla kontakten. Jag vill minnas ditt stora engagemang och driv för scenkonst, scenljus och teknik, imponerande och beundransvärt. Hela tiden en varm och positiv anda. Det är en stor förlust för scenljussverige och ljussättareföreningen— Anders du blir saknad. Ett ljus i minnet, men svart är svart.

Anders, beskedet om att du lämnade oss väckte en stor sorg. Har många minnen från alla gånger vi träffades. Kommer aldrig att glömma dig.

Dear Anders - I don't remember where or when we first met. Somehow you have always been there, a steady presence in my lighting world. We bumped into each other at OISTAT events, at the PLASA trade show in London, and here and there. More recently we worked on the Canon projects together, and I had the privilege of seeing more of you, of having more time and more conversations. You were always polite, attentive and warm, wearing your experience and expertise lightly as you guided your students and colleagues on their journey to learn about theatre, and light, and what it is to be human. I still can't believe you won't be with us when we meet for the Canon project in Stockholm next month - but of course, you will be with us. Still calmly, gently guiding us on our way. Thank you, Anders, for everything.

Dear Anders, Throughout my OISTAT career, I have always aspired to be someone like you — warm, patient, and ever the steadiest presence in any project. Thank you.

Dear Anders I still have a hard time believing that I will not be able to see you in Prague next year. Your exit from this world was too big a surprise. Your voice resonates and regenerates in my memories from the time that we spent at many OISTAT events. Visit to Stockholm and your school in January 2020, and most recently at the PQ Symposium in Prague in April 2026. Your words, 'Are you coming to Scandlight?' were more an invitation than a question. How come, so suddenly, so quick, so unexpected? Maybe this is the nature of this world. Your kindness and soft voice will continue to charm the people who hold your memories. Thank you for lighting this world for the time you were here. May the eternal light of the Supreme shine forever on you.

I have had the good fortune to call Anders a dear friend and colleague since we first met over 15 years ago. Anders and I served alongside each other as delegates to the OISTAT Education Commission, and later as the leadership of the Commission until just this past October. I would characterize him as a man with boundless enthusiasm for theatre and education, and someone with a wonderful energy & humor. I had the good fortune to travel around the world with him for many OISTAT events, World Stage Design events, and Prague Quadrennials. In his ever-present denim vest of many pockets, he could always be seen documenting the people and events with his full-sized camera. Truly a treasure trove of visual history he must have collected. One of my favorite travel memories was getting a thorough lesson from him in Swedish culinary & dining practices at the buffet dinner on the overnight ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. I had apparently gotten some food in the wrong order, and we spent the evening talking about Swedish food, the correct order it should be eaten in, and the importance of excellent company at the meal! He approached everything with an air of delight that was infectious. Anders leaves quite a legacy behind, when you count his work at University, coupled with everything he did for the Swedish lighting designers group, the Swedish OISTAT Centre, local & regional conferences like SCANDlight, the Canon Project, and all the work achieved by the OISTAT Education Commission. Our biggest efforts together, along with Chris Van Goethem, were the two week-long online conferences held during COVID, and he was a stalwart contributor, Zooming in at all hours from his cabin in the Swedish countryside. I will miss his boundless humor, and the sense of mirth in his eyes. We are truly blessed to have known him.

What a dear colleague. So happy to have spent time with you in various corners of the OISTAT universe. I loved the energy with which you jumped onto the idea of an International Annotated Bibliography of Lighting Books. As always your brought your willing spirit and big heart. You will be much missed.

Fina, fina, varma, härliga Anders. Tänk att du är hos änglarna nu. Gissar att du ser till att de går in snyggt och prydligt när de ska sjunga konsert. Du fattas oss, och vi kommer sakna dig länge länge.
